Robert Johnson - Crossroad Blues

One of the earliest great Blues guitarists was Robert Johnson. His recordings were made in the mid 1930's and he died in mysterious circumstances and some people even claimed that he had sold his soul to the Devil. Years later his songs were covered by amongst others Eric Clapton in his days with Cream and the Rolling Stones.

Howlin' Wolf aka Chester Arthur Burnett - How Many More Years

Howlin Wolf once predicted the first Black President of the US:

"You know they called us coons, said we didn't have no sense.
You're gonna wake up one morning, and a coon's gonna be the President.
Things have changed. We are on the move now.
You're gonna wake up one morning, and it'll be a coon sittin on the moon!"

Chester Arthur Burnett (June 10, 1910January 10, 1976), better known as Howlin' Wolf, was an influential blues singer, guitarist and harmonica player.
With a booming voice and looming physical presence, Burnett is commonly ranked among the leading performers in electric blues; musician and critic Cub Koda declared, "no one could match [Howlin' Wolf] for the singular ability to rock the house down to the foundation while simultaneously scaring its patrons out of its wits."[1] Many songs popularized by Burnett—such as "Smokestack Lightnin'," "Back Door Man" and "Spoonful"—have become standards of blues and blues rock.

Great tunes Bella. I'd never heard Nina Simone sing that before. I love Bowie's version and Ry Cooder's version of the old blues number is brilliant. Very Happy
