A main aim of World Book Day in the UK and Ireland is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading by providing them with the opportunity to have a book of their own.
The children at my sons primary school were invited to dress up as a character from a book,my sons not too keen on dressing up so he has gone as Horrid Henry very fitting !

The best thing I can remember from my primary school days is the school library, book tokens and the daily delivery of bottled milk. LOL, Takes me back ahh yes, and playing the recorder
